HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE? New volunteers are very welcome at all levels of gardening ability (including none whatsoever) and all levels of time commitment. Jobs that need constant attention and are vital to the health and appearance of the garden include: weeding, mowing, maintaining the paths and borders, and deadheading spent blossoms. Because the garden is, for the most part, a mature perennial garden with plants in varying stages of development, we ask new volunteers to work under the guidance of experienced gardeners who know what is where, and what needs to be done. We also have at least two Full Membership Work Days each yearSpring and Fallwhen we take care of larger-scale garden maintenance such as fence-painting and compost-turning; plus, there are Volunteer Work Sessions weekly throughout the growing season. If you are interesting in volunteering in any capacity, please fill out the form available at the garden and hand it to one of the gardeners, or mail it in to us. Or send us an email at: thegardenpeople@hotmail.com. Our 2010 VOLUNTEER WORK DAY Schedule: July 11,
