Great start to the 2019 garden season - early bulbs are showing color and the compost has been turned.
At the Firemen's Memorial, 100th Street and Riverside Drive, erected 1913. Still relevant, perhaps more than ever. The inscription reads:
To the men of the fire department
of the city of New York
who died at the call of duty
soldiers in a war that never ends
this memorial is dedicated
by the people of a grateful city.
